the vision of the journey....

Journeylogo_3 I am sure by now you have seen the green light that represents the vision for all of the churches we have in the Journey Church network of life-giving churches.

Lead:
Lead people through an educational process to spiritual maturity, teaching them to govern what they think, say and do by the Word of God.

Build:
Build a foundation of influence to impact our world through church planting and networking with other churches and ministries.

Connect:
Connect the diverse cultures within our sphere of influence to create a new generation of people who are free from prejudices, and recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic value of every individual.

We just finished up the series at the Acworth location on this vision and I have to say it was awesome to see people beginning to see their future and their destiny in this vision. That's really what a vision is anyway. It is a future given from the mind of God to a person who shares it with a group of people who decide to make it happen thus becoming their life.

Yesterday as I was giving my talk about how we as members of the congregation make the vision a reality I begin to share about the three things every believer must bring to their local church. Not only just bring them, but passionately bring them, and here they are.

  1. Prayer: What has happened to the prayer movement? Why are believers no longer praying? A prayerless Christian IS a defeated Christian already. Jesus said that His Church would be a house of prayer. Are we building country clubs or power houses for God? The difference between the two is of course is those who pray and those who do not.
  2. Partnership: Partnership has been the idea God has had for His Church every since He nade Jesus the head, and Jesus told us that when we go make disciples and preach that he would always be with us. It is a partnership. The local church should work as a partnership with one another. It is time that believers stopped being spectators, and became players in the game.
  3. Provision: I think the best thing to do here is to just give some scripture. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 the Bible reads,
    1. Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Be sure to join us this next Sunday at one of our Journey Churches.
